The PGA Tour has decided to bring Brooks Koepka back into its wing.

It came with another decision and the establishment of the Returning Member Program.

According to it, only players who won a major championship or THE PLAYERS Championship after 2022 are eligible to make a comeback. And that has garnered attention from the entire golf community. 

Reflecting on his return, Koepka acknowledged the fact that many people would welcome him, and many would be upset. Hence, he’d have to ensure that his relations remain unchanged. But Jordan Spieth had a few words for him. 

Spieth stated, “You’re not going to ask somebody to change to please other people. I don’t think he needs to play Monday pro-ams or walk along the range and shake everyone’s and say, ‘I’m sorry.’ He just comes back and plays really good golf. That’s good for everybody.”

“It seems like logical to me that DeChambeau and Rahm would want to come back to the PGA Tour at some point,” Wagner claimed. “But that window closes February 2nd.” 

Well, as per Golf Digest, DeChambeau is planning to leave LIV Golf after his contract expires later this year. But his asking price is a bit too high. And the exemption with the Returning Member Program might serve as leverage in their future negotiations. 

Spieth knows what’s at stake for Koepka. After all, he previously had to face intense criticism due to one of his decisions. 

Jordan Spieth Faced Criticism Over One PGA Tour Decision

After he chose not to compete in the 2025 FedEx Cup Fall schedule, Jordan Spieth faced quite a bit of criticism. Golf analysts even called his decision an “incredibly poor look.”

The reason? Spieth had missed all seven Fall Series events, which are designed to maintain competitive continuity. 

Rex Hoggard told Golf Channel, “I just don’t understand why he made the choice of not even playing if all he needed to do was make one cut and he would have finished in that category and he wouldn’t even be in this conversation.”

Now, as Brooks Koepka enters the PGA Tour once again, we might witness Spieth more frequently on the course, competing against some of the best on the Tour. But about the PGA Tour’s latest decision, do give us your thoughts.
