Rory McIlroy is heading into Masters Sunday with a share of the lead and a new mindset. Despite a difficult Saturday, he still tied for the lead at 11-under par.

"I'd like to think that I'll play a little bit freer," McIlroy said about how he plans on approaching the final 18 holes.

"I'll play, you know, like I've already got a green jacket, which I do. Sometimes I maybe just have to remind myself of that," the defending champion said after the third round.

In the third round, McIlroy had difficulty keeping up the momentum. He mentioned, "Yeah, didn't quite have it today. Yeah, even just starting at the first hole with that soft bogey."

McIlroy came into the weekend having laid down a great foundation through the first two rounds. He shot a 67, and then an incredible 65 to hold a historic six-shot lead after 36 holes.

His total score of 205 keeps him in contention at Augusta National. Despite a Saturday 73, McIlroy remains the man to beat as he seeks to secure his legacy.

Finding Comfort in the Final Sunday Pairing

McIlroy is supposed to play alongside Cameron Young, who will accompany him for the first two rounds.

In terms of the final-round pairs, McIlroy was at ease. He said, "I played with Cam the first two days. Playing with him again tomorrow. I think it's a comfortable group for both of us."

He spent his Saturday evening on the practice range, where he was trying to make sure that he got over a blunder that he had in his iron play. "If I can just get my lower body moving through impact, then that should sort of fix it," he added.

Rory McIlroy has one more round to secure the title. So, do you think the defending champion can earn his second green jacket? Share your thoughts in the comments.
