With stars like Brooks Koepka and Henrik Stenson leaving LIV Golf, the Saudi-backed league has entered a concerning period. Many others have also expressed their unwillingness to commit beyond short-term arrangements.

But despite this, there are changes coming for teams. Let's dive into it.

Rebrands for LIV Golf Teams

Not too long ago, Majesticks GC rebranded its logo to add a crown, a Union Jack striping, a shield, and a star. And now, four more clubs have filed to change their logos. 

Next up, the Iron Heads GC has a Korean white tiger as a mascot. Now, they have filed to trademark the mascot as their logo. And they seem to form an all-Korean team. Samurai GC has come up with a flower emblem that was used as a family crest by the Japanese. Yes, it’s similar to the one used by the Oda Mokko clan. 

Meanwhile, the Southern Guards GC applied to rebrand their rhino mascot for a stinger. And the color scheme? It’ll likely correspond to the colors of the South African flag. And Real Club de Toros GC isn’t too far behind with a logo that represents Spain. 

It seems like the league is moving forward with the model set by Legion XIII GC. Teams are focusing on their footprint while standardizing mascots, emblems, and regional symbolism. 

But the tension between expansion and uncertainty also extends to the league’s player market.

Unrest in the LIV Golf Player Market

Ben Campbell has re-signed with RangeGoats GC, keeping Bubba Watson’s team intact for the upcoming season. Campbell’s return came after speculation that he had been released when he entered the LIV Golf Promotions event, raising questions about the team’s short-term direction.

Prior to Campbell’s stance, RangeGoats GC tried to sign Max Greyserman as a replacement. As per reports, that deal went up to eight figures but collapsed in later negotiations. And this breakdown forced the Saudi-backed league to pivot and retain Campbell. 

However, the situation reflects a broader off-season problem for LIV Golf. Several first-choice acquisition targets have slipped away. And the largest hole was left by Brooks Koepka. But as of now, only two roster spots remain unfilled. One is at HyFlyers GC, captained by Phil Mickelson, while the other is with the IronHeads GC, led by Kevin Na.
