Jeeno Thitikul holds the title of world number one, but recent results tell a different story. As the LPGA tour heads to a high-stakes Las Vegas event, the pressure is mounting. Her biggest rival is finding form at the perfect time.

And Thitikul knows this. The world number one discussed the same during a press conference at Shadow Creek Golf Course, where the top 20 golfers in the world have gathered for the high-stakes PIF Global Series tournament.

In discussing her position as world number one, Thitikul said, "The position I'm in right now, I think it's really teaching me to be humble and be grounded every time because golf is really humble to me."

The biggest threat might just be Nelly Korda. She's coming off a string of top-five performances: a win at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions and top-two finishes at the Fortinet Founders Cup and the Ford Championship.

Moreover, since winning the Honda LPGA Thailand, Thitikul hasn't managed to crack the top-10 in her subsequent three events. That's why in discussing her position as world number one, Thitikul said, "It's just not the position you are -- means how good you're going to play in each tournament. It doesn't mean like that."

Moreover, in addition to the tournament itself, she will also have the opportunity to reconnect with LET players such as Shannon Tan, whom she has known since her junior days. But that won't be the only trouble she faces.

Jeeno Thitikul Knows One Tough Aspect of the Aramco Championship

"Shadow Creek is always a tough course in my perspective. It tests every part of my game and every part of everyone’s game. You have to be in the right spot every shot that you have because if not, it can cost you a lot. Patience is the key because you’re going to make misses out there."

The transition from match play to stroke play on the Shadow Creek course poses a special challenge because the course has been prepared with a major feel to challenge every aspect of the game.

"This is a major course setup. Since playing here as match play, I really thought how cool it is going to be if we play stroke play. Every part of this golf course can give you a smile, but at different part you can be so frustrated with it. It’s for sure testing everything in your game, physically and mentally."

As we head into the Aramco Championship, Thitikul enters as the reigning World Number 1, having held the spot since August 2025. While she lost the crown at 19, she might have learned from her mistakes and can hold strong this time!
