Wyndham Clark is back in the PGA Tour winners' circle in a dramatic way by claiming the 2026 CJ Cup Byron Nelson through a final round score of 60 at TPC Craig Ranch.
It is his fourth career win on the PGA Tour, coming after consecutive missed cuts in March and a tough performance at the PGA Championship. The World No. 75 finished at an incredible 30-under par total of 254.
Reflecting on his recent form, Clark revealed his game felt incredible before that disappointing week in Newton Square.
"I was really bummed because my game felt awesome going into PGA (Championship), but maybe it was just one week late," Clark admitted in the post-tournament presser.
The American golfer explained that his driving was the sole reason things fell apart during that major, carding an opening 75.
"Then I went to the PGA (Championship) and just drove it the worst I've ever driven it," Clark stated.
To bounce back for Texas, he immediately focused on fixing his issues off the tee. Thanks to successful modifications with his driver, he opened up with a remarkable 66 and 63 to stay in contention.
From there on, he maintained the momentum and adopted a strong mindset while carding nine birdies and one eagle against the challenge mounted by World No. 4 Si Woo Kim in the last round.
Overcoming Recent Slumps to Reclaim the Winners' Circle
The stunning 30-under-par win proved to be a turning point for Wyndham Clark, after a frustrating few months on the putting surface. Before this achievement, he could boast of having a single top-15 placement at The American Express event.
He had been struggling since failing to make the cut at the Valspar and Houston tournaments. Despite playing solid opening rounds at the Masters and RBC Heritage, he repeatedly faltered over the weekends.
The dramatic turnaround in Texas finally validated the grueling hours he spent reconstructing his swing during the off-season.
"Needless to say, it feels amazing to be back in the winners' circle," Clark stated.
With 500 vital FedExCup points secured, Clark's game is officially trending back toward the world's top ten.
"I feel like my game's trending in a great direction to continue to have success," he concluded.
Having missed the U.S. Open in 2025, Clark highlighted his shortcomings that led to his omission. Following his latest performance, he expressed hope of joining the U.S. team ahead of the Presidents Cup in September 2026.
Clark will also hope to surge through the rankings and replicate his highest position of World No. 3 from 2024.
