A single putt during Nelly Korda's rookie season didn't just knock her sister Jessica out of the top 10. It also came with a price. Jessica Korda revealed the friendly family debt during the 2026 Ford Championship press conference.

"We were playing somewhere in Michigan, and I made this putt on 18 to knock her outside the top 10, and she was the first text message I got when I checked my phone," said Nelly Korda.

Jessica Korda jokingly admitted that she "made her pay for the hotel that week" during the March 24 press conference.

That single stroke in Michigan proved that even as a newcomer, Nelly's steady attitude meant she was focused on the win, regardless of who stood in her way.

At the Pre-tournament Press Conference, Jessica described the situation, noting that while they embrace after the rounds, the competitive fire behind the ropes is at a different level.

That being said, the upcoming Ford Championship is a big step for Nelly Korda's sister. Jessica Korda has been away from the sport since 2023, and a lot has changed in three years.

Redefining Success Through Motherhood

Since her son, Greyson, was born in 2024, Jess's daily routine has changed a lot, as she has managed to fit in practice only three times this week.

During the press conference, Korda described this new focus and said, "I definitely prioritize my time with my son over golf, so it's not nearly as exciting as it used to be practicing."

Jessica Korda has also had to consider the physical demands of coming back, as she has had to manage constant back pain, which has made her more strategic with her tournament scheduling.

For this new chapter, Jessica expresses gratitude. She reflected, "I didn't think this would be part of my story, so I'm just grateful to be able to be in this position to do it".

The 33-year-old is coming to terms with the physical effects of her comeback. However, the real challenge is whether her limited practice routine will be able to cope with the demands of a full tournament week.
