Nelly Korda nearly pulled off a miracle comeback at the Fortinet Founders Cup. After trailing by five strokes, she surged on the final day to tie the lead. but couldn't lead her across the finish line.

From the front nine, the world number 2-ranked golfer set her sights on the Fortinet Founders Cup title as she reduced the gap, putting herself in a head-to-head challenge and almost pulling off a miracle.

"I was really, honestly just focused on myself. Yeah, wasn't really focused on what Hyo Joo was doing," Korda asserted, proving her unwavering determination to win.

Although Korda was quite aggressive on the front nine, she admitted her results were not as good on the back nine.

The pressure changed when she made a pivotal mistake on the 17th hole, where she erred with a bogey, a final mistake that cost her the championship.

"Wasn't really kind of producing as much as I was on the front nine. Obviously something like 17 stings, so it is what it is. It's golf," added Nelly Korda.

Although disappointed to come in second, Korda kept her focus, noting that the positive side of a quick turnaround offers her something to carry into the following week.

Resilience Amidst the California Galleries

"It's great. The crowds are unbelievable, so it's been a lot of fun," Korda said about the opportunity to play in the Bay Area.

Korda was in the zone for most of the day, and although she had a few tough moments at the end of the day, she was hopeful to improve by hitting her 18th drive into the fairway.

"It's a quick turnaround. There is next week, so just going to take all the positives... Sometimes it's on your side, and sometimes it's not," Korda said, showcasing her experience with the game's psychological challenges.

While Hyo Joo claimed the victory, Korda's ability to block out distractions remains her greatest weapon on tour. Her next stop will be at the Ford Championship in Phoenix, Arizona, starting 26 March.
