Nelly Korda Rejects 2024 Comparisons and Says Her Game Is Exactly Where It Needs to Be

Nelly Korda is silencing any doubts in Las Vegas. The world number two is just one shot off the lead at the Aramco Championship, but she's not interested in comparing this run to her dominant 2024 season.
In response to whether her recent performances have brought back memories of her memorable 2024 campaign, Korda refused the analogy, saying, "No, I mean, I had a few more wins under my belt at this time."
"I just feel refreshed, happy. I'm excited to compete. Last year was just a weird year where stuff was just not going my way by like centimeters. That wears on you, and that's why I like taking like longer breaks," she added.
Korda says that the conditions in Nevada are brutally hard, with firm greens and windy conditions making things difficult for the whole field.
Playing under stroke play rules, Korda admitted that she needed to play differently from how she used to under match play when she remarked: "Now so you're playing stroke play, and bogey, double, triple, they all come into play."
A Pattern of Grinding Through the Highs and Lows
Korda comes into the final day with confidence after shooting two consecutive birdies, although she had ended up as the runner-up in her last two appearances on the LPGA Tour.
"From what I've learned with the game is you have to be really humble and happy for where you are right now," Korda said concerning the performance in recent weeks.
Her determination was put to the test during the second round when she felt a bit under the weather, but she still competed well despite strong winds blowing on the final holes.
She credits her improvement to taking a break after her win at Nona. Skipping the Tour's Asian swing left her refreshed and happy to be back.
The American star still relies on her coaching staff after every tournament and asks the question: "After every tournament I come to my coach or putting coaches, and I ask where can we improve, what can I do better."
While Sunday promises to be another beast of a day, Korda remains grateful for the opportunity to be in the final group and roll with the punches at Shadow Creek.
