Nelly Korda is trading her spiked golf shoes for a cheesehead as she takes on a new sporting interest. The LPGA superstar has officially declared her allegiance to the NFL, offering a look at her time off during a strong run on the LPGA Tour.

According to a recent episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Korda revealed her newfound allegiance. "I've actually just become a big Green Bay Packers fan," she said during the broadcast.

Explaining the reason behind this decision, she said there was a personal connection. “My fiancé, he’s a huge Packers fan, and I’m kind of marrying into it,” she confessed during the show.

Her fiancé, Andreas Athanasiou, is a professional hockey player and a longtime Packers supporter.

She also admired the historic venue used by the NFL team. “I’ve been out to Lambeau Field, I think it’s the greatest place in the world,” Korda said during the discussion.

She did not just watch from the stands. She described the experience of being on the field as incredibly special and cool.

While being interviewed by McAfee, the Olympian showed her foam cheesehead to the hosts and confirmed her complete transformation into a football fan since visiting the iconic Wisconsin venue.

Korda has had a dominant 2026 LPGA Tour season so far, winning multiple titles, including the Chevron Championship, and consistently finishing near the top of leaderboards. The run has also seen her return to the World No. 1 ranking.

Embracing the Electric Atmosphere of Lambeau Field 

Her visit to Green Bay changed her perspective on football. She noted that her visit to the famous ground changed how she sees the game of football.

“I love watching other sports, and I think the atmosphere there was super, super cool,” Korda explained when referring to her time spent on the famous field in Green Bay.

Pat McAfee, along with his team, was happy to have the best player from the LPGA join the fan base. It made them excited to see how committed she had become to being part of the Cheesehead culture.

The star golfer's enthusiasm suggests that she may be a frequent visitor to Wisconsin. Fans of both golf and football are eager to see her supporting the Packers during the 2026 season.
