Phil Mickelson hilariously got caught in the fire that was fueled by LIV Golf.

LIV Golf has caught the entire fanbase by surprise with a spoof video of a mandatory orientation meeting that every new joinee has to sit through.

As a comedy segment in the inaugural LIV Golf Showcase, the league welcomed the newcomers Richard T. Lee, Bjorn Hellgren, Victor Perez, and Yosuke Asaji. And the first thing they tackled in the orientation was the core guiding principles of LIV Golf.

‘Guru Gary’ began with the number one principle, “team is everything,” and asked the newcomers to open their “chakras” to all of their LIV brothers. But then came the shocker.

‘Guru Gary’ then flipped the whiteboard, showing “PHIL” with a red cross on top, and continued, “Number two. Never trust Phil Mickelson. Now, I realize this contradicts number one, but I cannot stress this enough.”

Weighing in on his learning, Perez revealed his confusion. But he believed that ‘Guru Gary’ was “making a lot up” as the meeting proceeded.

The Creeks GC addition’s words found weightage when the video taught the newcomers the “secret LIV handshake.” It began with a standard stance right before a handshake.

But then the Guru joined his hands, moved them up, and sent them forward to touch Perez’s cheeks. He instructed that LIV Golfers hold eye contact in that position for about a minute.

The orientation even had a version of duck, duck, goose. But instead of duck, it was ‘LIV’, and ‘Golf’ replaced the goose. But the gags continued with a new meaning of LIV Golf.

Fun Takes a Wild Turn With LIV Golf Acronym

‘Guru Gary’ continued, “Here at LIV,  we love big and lie fast. That’s why LIV stands for love incredibly, vroom, vroom.”

But he was interrupted by the Canadian newbie. Lee pointed out that LIV actually represented the Roman numerals for 54. That’s the number of holes LIV Golf events previously had. Now, the number stood at 72. And the new abbreviation seemed like the league’s way of making up to the fans in a goofy and funny way.

Also, Hellgren seemed confused about having two ‘vrooms’ for one ‘V’. But ‘Guru Gary’ had a reply ready.

“Interesting questions, gentlemen. Even if they are wrong, they are valid. Questions are just answers we haven’t kissed yet.”

Of course, it left everyone flabbergasted. Lee and Hellgren even believed it was unreal and didn’t “buy that for a second.” But just as the camera rolled towards an end, Cam Smith joined the two and performed the “secret handshake” with Hellgren.

But in the end, it was a parody meant to welcome the newcomers in the most hilarious way possible. What did you think of it?
