Two tours saw two major winners this week. Scottie Scheffler continued his dominance on the PGA Tour, while Patrick Reed secured a victory on the DP World Tour.
Scheffler won his 20th PGA Tour event at the American Express, shooting 27-under par. Meanwhile, at the DP World Tour, Patrick Reed won the 2026 Hero Dubai Desert Classic by 14-under.
But what exactly did each win deliver in terms of rewards? Let's break it down.
What Scheffler’s American Express Victory Delivered Beyond the Trophy
Scheffler went home with a prize money of $1,656,000 after winning the AmEx. And as a standard PGA Tour win, he received an additional 500 FedEx Cup points. But the win rewarded him in a few more ways.
Beyond the monetary benefits, the 2026 AmEx champion will receive a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour. On top of that, it has brought him a ticket into the Masters Tournament, the PGA Championship, and the PLAYERS Championship this season.
But where does that put Scheffler on the Official World Golf Ranking?

Winning the AmEx brought him 65.22961 points. And that helped him stay on top of the leaderboard as the World #1 for 141 consecutive weeks.
He also became the third-fastest golfer to win 20 events before turning 30, joining the ranks of Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.
What Did Patrick Reed’s First Win of the Season Bring?
Reed pocketed $1,530,000 in prize money after winning the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. But there are a few other perks that come with the millions.
He also received 1,335 Race to Dubai points. Additionally, he received a two-plus season exemption on the DP World Tour by winning the event. Reed can now participate in a few other major events like the Genesis Scottish Open, Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, etc.
And if we look at the OWGR, Patrick Reed earned 30.85856 points with the win. This pushed his rank from 44 to 29. He’s still a long way from his best OWGR rank (6th). But he’s certainly on the right path.
Scheffler’s win reinforced his control of the PGA Tour and the world number one spot. But for Reed, even though he earned an amount equivalent to Scheffler's payout, the win earned him momentum to rise through the official world rankings.
