A YouTube streamer, Jack Doherty, received a lifetime ban from the PGA Tour after convincing a fan to break the rules at the 2026 WM Phoenix Open.

During Hughes Mackenzie’s backswing, the YouTuber offered a fan $100 to yell “j*******” at the Canadian golfer. The fan took the deal and apparently the money as well. However, the organizers quickly spotted Doherty after the stunt.

X page NUCLR GOLF posted a clip of the influencer's livestream, which showed the police escorting him from the game, and then an official extended his verdict.

"As a result of that, for trespassing here, if you come back here again before the tournament is over, you’ll be arrested," the official told the YouTuber.

"If you show up on a PGA Tour tournament again, you’ll be arrested… For the foreseeable future, till you and I can work this out," added the official.

Even though it was designed for social media engagement, the stunt went against the PGA Tour rules.

PGA Tour Has Strict Rules for Spectators

Spectators attending a PGA Tour tournament also agree to follow the fan code of conduct. There are three conditions and failing to do so might cost them their ticket and/or credential privileges.

Firstly, a fan needs to abide by all tournament policies. The second one is what just earned Jack Doherty the ban.

That's because fans can't make “rude, vulgar or other inappropriate comments or gestures or any words or actions that undermine the inclusive and welcoming nature of the game.”

This includes interactions with players, caddies, volunteers, staff, guests, officials, or other fans, be it verbal or physical. Finally, a fan attending an event can't be intoxicated.
