On October 11, 2025, President Donald Trump appeared on his granddaughter Kai Trump's YouTube channel. However, besides playing a round with his granddaughter, the POTUS called his Virginia property 'one of the best' in the world.

“We’re going to play a little bit of the course in Virginia, that I think is rated the number one,” the POTUS said.

“I think it’s one of the best courses anywhere on the world," said President Trump, before highlighting the course's location. "It’s on the Potomac River. It’s Trump National, and it’s been really great in Washington, D.C. And it’s been just a great place to play. It’s a phenomenal course.”

Opened in 2016, the course was designed by renowned architect Tom Fazio. The course is known for significant elevation changes, demanding tee shots, and a visually striking closing stretch where several holes play directly along the river. The 800-acre layout stretches along the Potomac, offering sweeping views that distinguish it from many inland courses in the Mid-Atlantic.

However, Donald Trump also had other iconic layouts such as the St. Andrews Old Course and Pebble Beach Golf Links. However, it's the Turnberry course in Scotland that's even earned the praise of pros, including two-time major champion Bryson DeChambeau.

Bryson DeChambeau Offered High Praise For Donald Trump’s Course

“I look at it as a golf course. It’s one of the best golf courses in the world, and I’d love for it to be a part of the rotation,” Bryson DeChambeau said back in July 2025.

“Albeit I haven’t played it, I’ve heard so many great things about it, and anytime you get to play a special historical golf course like that, I think it’s worthy of it, for sure," DeChambeau said in the context of the Donald Trump-owned course hosting the British Open.

Turnberry last hosted the the Britsh Open 16 years ago. While the course is still in the rotation for the Open, Bryson DeChambeau would like to see it return to Turnberry sooner rather than later.
