Anthony Kim started LIV Golf Adelaide with a bang, shooting a six-under 66 on day one, which got Bryson DeChambeau going all praises for the 40-year-old.

Talking to the media after first round of LIV Golf Adelaide, DeChambeau said, "AK was just up here, and he’s 40 years old now. It was just really cool to see him, somebody that’s had a lot of difficulties, change his life around and come back out here and having the success that he has."

Well, Kim won over the fans who criticized him for his hiatus in the past couple of years. However, his persistent efforts ensured his return, and the fans couldn't help but cheer for him.

"He’s eight years older than me," DeChambeau went on. "To still say, ‘Look, it’s about patience and whatnot. It doesn’t matter where you are.'" 

Kim's success in round one stemmed largely from his patience. Staying patient and giving his best remains his simple goal, and hence, DeChambeau is planning to stay patient for the next three rounds as well. 

The crushers GC skipper topped his tee ball in the first round at Adelaide, landing the ball 245 yards down the hole at the par-5 10th. Yet, his success formula ensured he made a birdie after putting the ball in the green with his second shot. 

But who pushed him to stay patient despite the tension?

Bryson DeChambeau Reveals the Source of His ‘Patience’

Following the events of round one at Adelaide, the 32-year-old reflected on his impressive performance in the first three holes. But coming to the fourth, things got a little turbulent. 

He recalled, “Felt like things weren’t going my way, and I kept talking to my caddie G-Bo [Greg Bodine], and I’m like, ‘I don’t know how over these past couple weeks, I’m hitting it really well but just not scoring.’”

But all Bodine asked him to do was “stay patient.” And that’s what DeChambeau did. 

“Fortunately, I was able to do that and didn’t capitalize on a couple areas,” he continued. “But 6-under out here with these conditions, I’ll take that any day.”

DeChambeau relied on patience and steady guidance from his caddie to navigate early struggles. His disciplined approach kept him atop the leaderboard and firmly in contention. But can this patience lead him to a victory at Adelaide?
