Rory McIlroy finally broke through and won the Masters Tournament after 16 tries this year. And to commemorate his Grand Slam finish and victory over Scottie Scheffler, his caddie, Harry Diamond, got him an early Christmas present.
Just a day ago, McIlroy revealed the present to the Fried Egg Golf community, showing it to the public for the very first time. It was an Augusta National scorecard signed by all of the career Grand Slam winners.
McIlroy said, “And he brought me this with a Sharpie and said, ‘Do you wanna sign it?’ And I said, ‘No, absolutely not.’ And I said, ‘I just hope I don’t have to get Scottie to sign it next year.’”

Scheffler already owns two Masters titles and has won three of the four major championships, leaving only The Open Championship as the missing piece of a career Grand Slam.
Given his recent dominance in majors and sustained world #1 form, we can actually expect him to be the next player to complete the career Grand Slam. And that seemingly scares McIlroy.
The exchange highlighted how important the Grand Slam was to him. More than a decade after winning his fourth major, the Masters was the missing piece, which he finally won in April 2025.
But the gift that came from Harry Diamond would have meant so much to Mcllory, given their equation.
Rory McIlroy Gives a Major Shoutout to Harry Diamond
"I've known Harry since I was seven years old,” McIlroy said as he fought back tears after finally winning the Masters Tournament. "He's been like a big brother to me the whole way through my life.”
Rory McIlroy and Harry Diamond grew up together in Holywood, Northern Ireland, where Diamond first knew McIlroy as a junior golfer at Holywood Golf Club. Diamond later became McIlroy’s full-time caddie in 2017, replacing JP Fitzgerald.
Over the years, Diamond has faced scrutiny from critics during McIlroy’s Masters near-misses. "To be able to share this with him after all the close calls that we've had, all the crap that he's had to take from people that don't know anything about the game, this one is just as much his as it is mine."
What do you think about the duo? Will they be able to create history again in 2026?
