Rose Zhang calls coach one of the best decisions of her career

Rose Zhang joined Todd Anderson in 2023 as she made the transition from amateur phenom to LPGA professional. Since then, the partnership has been part of some of the biggest moments of her young career.
The relationship between Anderson and Zhang was featured in a behind-the-scenes clip recently shared by the X handle of the PGA of America.
"He's been incredible," Zhang said. "One of the best decisions I've made for my own professional career is having Todd as a mentor."
Filmed during a range session with Zhang, the clip shows Anderson providing her real-time swing notes while Zhang reflects on what their partnership has meant to her since day one.
"We started back in 2023. I was able to connect with him and really see that we have a shared vision of how the game is," Zhang said.
Anderson, a Michigan Golf Hall of Famer and the 2010 PGA of America Teacher of the Year, has coached players such as Billy Horschel, Brandt Snedeker, Davis Love III, and Justin Leonard, while also helping tennis legend Ivan Lendl and NFL Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk with their golf games.
He has also served as the director of instruction at the PGA Tour's Performance Center at TPC Sawgrass.
Before Anderson, George Pinnell was Zhang's golf instructor during her developmental years.
“George is probably going to Wilshire next week,” Zhang told Golfweek back in 2024. “We’re still so close. He’ll be a mentor. He’s seen my swing for the past nine years.”

With Anderson as her coach, Zhang won the 2024 Cognizant Founders Cup and posted three top-10 finishes in majors during her rookie season. She played 21 events that year but made only 14 starts in 2025 after neck spasms sidelined her for nearly two months, according to Golfweek.
She missed the Chevron Championship in early 2026 and was searching for form. She then shot a 1-under 71 at the Fortinet Founders Cup in March, the same morning she submitted a 15-page Stanford class paper.
A T-12 finish at the Kroger Queen City Championship in May lifted her into the top 75 of the Rolex World Rankings and secured her spot at the U.S. Women's Open, where she later made the cut at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.
