A confusing final-hole decision by Sahith Theegala defined the TGL finals. The Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC) had already secured the SoFi Cup, but Theegala's late "hammer" call against Tiger Woods' team left many, including his own teammates, puzzled by the strategy.

The tension in the TGL finals reached the SoFi Center when Sahith Theegala chose to throw a "hammer" despite being well ahead of Tiger Woods' team.

"I figured even if they decline it, we're up six. We weren't going to use our hammers anyway, so figured I'd throw it there," Theegala explained regarding the late-game decision.

The strategic confusion peaked when Max Homa later suggested that accepting the high-stakes hammer was a mistake on his part. The mathematical disadvantage for Jupiter Links was already insurmountable at that stage.

Tommy Fleetwood stated that he was initially puzzled by the play, and he prefers to see Justin Rose putt uninterrupted. He, however, admitted later that Sahith was technically correct with his aggressive calculation.

Justin Rose was too concentrated on his own swing to follow the complicated rules of the hammer. He credited the team's resilience and adaptability for their success.

Remembering a Special Trophy Moment

Justin Rose remarked that although the SoFi Cup is an extraordinary accomplishment, it adds to a portfolio of extremely sentimental individual accomplishments. He reflected in particular on the emotional British Masters win in 2002.

"It was the only one my dad ever saw me win in person, and got to touch that trophy, so it was kind of nice to have that physical trophy," Rose shared.

The seasoned golfer said that he only recently got that particular trophy back from an auction. He intends to put it in the most prominent place in a cabinet.

Ultimately, their teamwork proved strong enough to overcome confusing moments and tough competition.
