Dec 18, 2025, 4:02 AM CUT

Scottie Scheffler settled the golf debate in 2025 with the PGA Tour's Player of the Year award. And while Rory McIlroy ended the year close behind, there's one question that some golf fans may have: who earned more in the 2025 season?

Scottie Scheffler's Earnings From Last Season

Scottie Scheffler kicked things off with a T9 spot at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which brought him $535,000. But a T3 finish at The Genesis Invitational brought him $1.2 million.

He later ended the Texas Children’s Houston Open at the T2 position and won $845,500, then added $1 million from a fourth-place finish at the Masters. Thereafter, he won the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, which made him richer by $1,782,000.

But his biggest paydays came from his PGA Championship, bringing $3.4 million and then $4 million at the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday.

Towards the end of his season, Scottie Scheffler won the BMW Championship, earning $3.6 million. And then he finished the season with a win at the Procore Championship, bagging $1.08 million. He also got a T3 finish at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, which brought him $3.6 million, and a T4 finish at the TOUR Championship, for which he earned $2,616,670.

In total, including the bonuses and official prize money, Scheffler earned $50,659,550.

Rory McIlroy's Earnings Last Season

McIlroy started with a victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, getting $3.6 million. He later won the PLAYERS Championship, earning $4.5 million. Unlike Scheffler, McIlroy had only two wins in non-major tournaments.

However, he finished in the top 10 spots in three championships: a T5 finish at the Texas Children’s Houston Open, a T7 finish at the Truist Championship, a T6 finish at the Travelers Championship, and a T2 finish at the Genesis Scottish Open. It brought him a total of $2,423,519.

In the major tournaments, Rory McIlroy finally won the Masters Tournament, taking home an amount of $4.2 million. At the PGA Championship, he ended in the 47th spot and earned $49,190. A T19 finish at the U.S. Open garnered $243,070. And at The Open Championship, he finished in T7 position and earned $451,833.

Summing up his total earnings, including his bonuses, McIlroy earned $30,492,418 in 2025.

That means Scheffler emerged as the top earner of the 2025 PGA Tour season, finishing with $20.17 million more in total earnings than Rory McIlroy. It’s a gap that’s driven by sustained success across majors, signature events, and the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
