A fan brawl briefly overshadowed LIV Golf's historic debut in South Africa. While the incident quickly went viral, it wasn't the only drama unfolding at the record-breaking event.

Barstool Sports' Fore Play podcast shared a clip that captured some fans getting into an altercation. It was an intense verbal confrontation that turned physical before a large security team cleared the area.

The incident reported took place during the historic LIV Golf South Africa finals as Bryson DeChambeau chased the title against Jon Rahm. The historic week at The Club at Steyn City officially became the biggest professional golf tournament ever held in South Africa, with more than 100,000 spectators.

While the momentary brawl did go viral on X, most fans were busy watching Rahm and DeChambeau go head-to-head on the greens.

In fact, the turnout prompted the league to announce they'll be back again next season. "The Club at Steyn City will host LIV Golf South Africa from 22-25 April 2027," read the official announcement. Meanwhile, DeChambeau scripted history at the inaugural event.

Bryson DeChambeau Claims Emotional Victory Over Rahm

The rivalry epic came to a dramatic climax with an exciting playoff. Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm tied after 18 holes each, but DeChambeau got the victory on the first extra hole.

DeChambeau, who had a two-stroke lead going into the final round, shot 5-under 66 to finish at 26-under par before securing the victory with a clinical birdie in the playoff.

“I wish I could tell you. A lot has happened in my life in the past week. I’m just so grateful for my team, the Crushers, everybody supporting me..." said the Crucsher GC captain.

"You realize that golf is just golf, and there’s a lot more to life than just golf. And I had some things happen during the off-time this week, I was just praying all day,” he added.

His team, Crushers GC, also won the team trophy, defeating Southern Guards GC by one stroke.
