Sergio Garcia is highly confident LIV Golf will survive past 2027, even as the league prepares to lose its financial backing from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) at the end of this season.
But with LIV reportedly seeking up to $300 million in fresh investment and bracing for a smaller schedule next year, Garcia isn't leaving his own plans to chance. The Spaniard intends to secure his DP World Tour card back for 2027.
"It looks good," Garcia told bunkered.co.uk about the future of LIV Golf.
"Obviously, I think they've had a lot of meetings with different possible investors. I'm 99 percent sure that LIV is going to continue."
According to the Financial Times, the PIF has delivered only around $200 million of the roughly $600 million it originally committed to fund the rest of the 2026 season. This shortfall means LIV is now operating on loans, not capital.
Beyond this year, LIV's blueprint for 2027, as reported by bunkered.co.uk in May, includes trimming the schedule down to 10 events, split evenly between five 'Team Majors' and five 'Signature Events'.
But none of it happens without the $300 million in outside investment the league is currently chasing.
"It's just going to look different than it has the last four years," Garcia added in the same interview with bunkered.co.uk. "But I'm very, very confident that it's going to keep going. We'll see how it develops."

Garcia has confirmed his intentions to reporters, including bunkered.co.uk, to rejoin the DP World Tour for 2027.
He won't be alone in that plan, though. His Fireballs GC teammate, Jose Luis Ballester, is hoping to earn membership the same year.
The pair were both in the field at last week's BMW International Open in Munich. Garcia expects to add a few more DP World Tour starts before the season is out.
"Yes, I'm going to play a little bit. I'm going to play probably four more, counting [BMW International Open]," he said.
"It's obviously something that I've always said that I wanted to do and I'm trying to do the best I can there. Obviously, at 46, I can't play 30 events a year, but I'm going to make an effort to see if I can at least play a handful and try to do my best there."
Garcia's relationship with the DP World Tour has been anything but simple since he left for LIV in 2022.
He resigned his membership in 2023 after an arbitration panel upheld the tour's right to fine players who had competed in LIV events without a release.
Then, in November 2024, Garcia settled those fines and rejoined the tour, hoping the move would put him back in contention for a spot on Luke Donald's 2025 European Ryder Cup team at Bethpage Black.
But the comeback bid didn't work. He missed the cut at the Masters on his 100th career major start, followed it with finishes outside the top 40 on LIV. And by mid-May, he had already resigned himself to missing the team, telling reporters at Quail Hollow he'd turn down a captain's pick even if Donald offered him one.
Garcia let his membership lapse again after failing to make the minimum number of starts required for automatic renewal.
