Brook Koepka's entry into the PGA has caused a ripple effect.

Brooks Koepka has entered the roster of the 2026 WM Phoenix Open, but not without consequences. With the five-time major champion in the field, the roster had 121 players. And to round out the threesomes, two more players had to be added. 

The PGA Tour took to X and announced the update. “With Brooks Koepka in the field via the Returning Member Program, the 121-player field was expanded to 123 players Monday to round out threesomes. Pontus Nyholm and A.J. Ewart are added to the field.”

Apart from Koepka, Joel Dahmen, Charley Hoffman, and Sahith Theegala will enter the WM Phoenix Open under sponsor exemption to compete against the section champion, Thomas Avant. 

Finishing T56th at the Farmers Insurance Open, the 35-year-old garnered 5.6 FedEx Cup points. And the WM Phoenix Open would be Koepka’s last chance to earn FedEx Cup points toward the Aon Swing 5 and to enter the signature events.

He had already won the event in 2021 and finished third in 2022 after posting a score of 15-under par. 

Additionally, he’s one of the only three players in the field with multiple wins at the event. His 2021 performance came right after a four-year gap in the event. But can he gain the same stance on the leaderboard this time?

Brooks Koepka Seems Confident Entering the 2026 WM Phoenix Open

After wrapping up the Farmers Insurance Open, Koepka took aim at the next week’s event. He won the WM Phoenix Open in 2015, marking his first PGA Tour win. And then came another win in 2021, marking his eighth PGA Tour win.

He carried a similar energy, looking forward to his second event this season. 

At the Torrey Pines, Brooks Koepka said, “I enjoy next week. I love the chaos, I think it’s fun. Yeah, it’s been, what, four years since I’ve been back so I’m excited to get back out there to a place I’m familiar with, comfortable with, and a place I love.”

The course fits his game, and the moment suits his appetite for pressure. But only time can tell if he can actually succeed for the third time.
