Bryson DeChambeau's relatively smooth sailing with LIV Golf faces disruption by his soon-to-expire $125 million contract. He is recently concerned about the league's shifting financial landscape and his own position.

The 2024 U.S. Open champion is now facing a dilemma regarding his future career, as he will be signing off on his multi-year contract, which saw him captain Crushers GC's team to win while earning millions in the process.

When probed regarding the Public Investment Fund continuing to fund his remaining contractual obligations, the player replied, "Your guess is as good as mine."

According to ESPN, this revelation came during a practice session at Trump National Golf Club, marking a pivot from the stability DeChambeau enjoyed while winning events like the 2023 LIV Golf Chicago and earning a $4 million winner's check.

DeChambeau's apprehension stems from the surprising revelations surrounding the exit of the Saudi PIF from the league’s funding portfolio, particularly its generous $30 million purse.

DeChambeau admitted he was surprised by the PIF's decision to stop funding the tournament, especially given his assumption that money would keep flowing through 2032.

"I was completely shocked. I didn't expect it to happen. A couple months before that, it's like, 'We're here until 2032," the Crushers captain explained.

Even the LIV higher-ups seem unsure of DeChambeau's position in the Tour after recent uncertainties about funding prospects.

LIV CEO on Bryson DeChambeau’s Status

The ambiguity surrounding the star player's career path was also evident in LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neil's words, who declined to commit to a possible contract renewal for his top performer.

Asked whether they could conclude a deal before moving to a new market, O'Neil called it an "interesting question" he wasn't sure about.

"Well, that's an interesting question. I'm not sure. We'll sort through and work through. I appreciate the question," O'Neil responded when asked about the contractual situation.

Nonetheless, O'Neil showed a positive attitude toward DeChambeau, per an Instagram post by NUCLR Golf.

"It's Bryson's special. He's different and special. ... He's smart, he's driven, he's committed."

Furthermore, O'Neil reiterated his stance regarding the star's value, saying that the two-time major champion is still "a heck of a partner" for the league.

On the other hand, DeChambeau is preparing for the post-league life, as he plans to focus on his YouTube channel and global content production in case the league collapses.

While the PGA Tour remains a distant possibility, DeChambeau's primary focus is on navigating the end of his current commitment to LIV.

Do you think Bryson DeChambeau will return to the PGA Tour or will he pursue a career as a YouTube golfer? Let us know in the comments.
