Charlie Woods, the 17-year-old son of 15-time major champion Tiger Woods, has spent most of his young golf life in the spotlight. For years, he was mostly known as Tiger Woods' kid with the eerily similar swing.

He made his debut with Tiger as a father-son duo at the PNC Championship in 2020 at just 11 years old, and finished runner-up alongside his dad in both the 2021 and 2024 events.

That changed in May 2025. Charlie won the AJGA Team TaylorMade Invitational at Streamsong Resort with a final-round 6-under 66 and a 15-under 201 total, his first American Junior Golf Association title.

Later in 2025, AJGA named Charlie Woods to its 2025 Rolex Junior All-America First Team. He also helped The Benjamin School win the Florida 1A state title with a team-best 68 in the final round.

At the Junior Orange Bowl International Championship in Jan. 2026, Charlie posted rounds of 73-72-71-72 to finish T19. It wasn't a headline result, but it was a steady one. And for a moment it seemed as though the 2025 composure carried into 2026.

Woods Jr. has played six more events since then. And his best results came at the Team TaylorMade Invitational 2026, where he was defending his title. However, he finished tied for 28th after posting scores of 68-73-73.

He also missed the cut at the Florida Amateur Championship in June and followed with a T30 at the RLX Ralph Lauren Junior Classic.

In July, he shot a 5-over 76 at U.S. Amateur final qualifying on Ohio State University's Scarlet Course, missing a place in the field at Merion Golf Club by six strokes — the same event his father won three straight times.

Days later at the U.S. Junior Amateur at Saucon Valley, Charlie Woods fought back from an ugly start (6-over through five holes) to shoot even par in round two.

He forced a 14-for-2 playoff for the final match-play spots, only to make bogey on the first extra hole and go home.

He closed out the summer tied for 57th at the Boys Junior PGA Championship. Between the missed cuts and the mid-pack finishes, his Rolex AJGA ranking has slid into the 300s.

Despite the on-course dip, Charlie Woods is carving his own path

Charlie Woods is building an identity that looks nothing like his father's, starting with where he's headed to college.

He chose Florida State instead of following his father’s path at Stanford. He committed to the Seminoles in February 2026 and joined a 2027 class that also includes Miles Russell, the world's top-ranked junior amateur.

A week after the FSU announcement, Charlie signed his first representation deal — with Players Group Management and agent Allen Hobbs. It wasn't Excel Sports Management, the agency his father has been with for more than a decade.

"It's fun to be a part of the process with Charlie and go through it and see where the opportunities that he has that he has created for himself by playing better, places that he could play, wants to play and ultimately we'll decide where he wants to go play," Tiger  Woods said regarding his son's rise, per the Daily Express.

This off-course growth has helped Charlie’s value reach $3 million, even before he has played a college round, per NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) valuation.
